Whether you’re looking to relax on the sandy shores, indulge in delicious cuisine, or immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture, Miami has something for everyone. One advantage of using Uber or Lyft is the transparency and flexibility it provides. You can easily estimate fares upfront, choose between different car types based on your needs and preferences, and track your driver’s arrival in real-time. After collecting luggage, guests should proceed to Customs and into the Arrivals area. The meeting point is at Terminal 3, Arrivals, door number 1 (indoor) where a Carnival representative will meet guests and escort them to the pier transportation.
Taxi or Ride-sharing Services from Miami Airport to Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® gives you access to Priority Pass lounges, while The Platinum Card® from American Express will open the door to the Amex Centurion Lounge at MIA. If your cruise line has a broad boarding window (something like noon to 4 p.m.), then you can arrive at any point during that window. We suggest waiting until the second half of the boarding window to actually arrive. There is usually a big rush of people who want to board as early as possible, leading to longer lines. Waiting a little later can make check-in a breeze as the crowds have died down. Assuming that there’s no contraband or prohibited items in your luggage, you’ll collect it on the other side of the x-ray machine and then proceed to check-in.
Editor's Note
Note that the trolley drop off at the port is a considerable distance from Terminals A & B (Royal Caribbean and Norwegian) and will require a decent walk. One thing to note is that we know of no hotels in Fort Lauderdale with shuttles to the Port of Miami. Often these hotels offer free shuttles, or shuttles that are included with a hotel package. There are also a number of Miami hotels near the Coral Way trolley, a transit route offering free transportation to the port. If you like the convenience of driving, you can easily rent a car from Fort Lauderdale Airport and drop it off near the cruise port.
